It looks like Boston Celtics forward Glen Davis(notes) wasn't beloved by all his old teammates from Louisiana State University. The word from the Boston Globe is that Davis hurt his thumb pretty severely when he was squaring off against an old teammate. In fact, the thumb is looking like it is broken, according to the Boston Herald.
He'll apparently need to get surgery on the thumb so Rasheed Wallace(notes) suddenly finds himself with more playing time. The Celtics, of course, won't say exactly what happened or how long Davis is expected to be out.
The Celts will surely miss the offense of Davis, particularly the playoff version, which averaged 15.8 points and 5.6 rebounds per game in 14 games last year. Rumor has it the team is considering disciplining Davis in some way.

Glen Davis should no better. The C's have a real shot at a 'chip this year, and he goes out and gets himself hurt? Why, why, why?
