NBA - Scoop Du Jour

Delonte West(notes) is having some kind of horrible season. It all started just before the preseason when he got pulled over for a routine traffic violation and was found to have a 9mm Beretta pistol, a .357 Magnum, and a Remington 870 in a guitar case. Then he didn't show up to training camp right away.

And now this.

He was put on the inactive list against the Orlando Magic as apparent punishment for supposedly missing the team plane down there, according to the Cleveland Plain Dealer.

He apparently missed a flight earlier in the season as well. Coach Mike Brown said West had been excused for missing the flight, but another source on the team says that is bogus.

West apparently doesn't like to fly and often has to be calmed down before flights, according to the paper. His fear has supposedly led to some delayed flights over the last few years as well.

He'll likely be in tonight's game against the Miami Heat. And his court case for the guitar-case incident is coming up on Nov. 20. He could face a fine of $2,500 or a three- to five-year visit to prison.
