Caron Butler returning to Lakers?

The Los Angeles Lakers may not be done tinkering with their roster.

The word is they don't believe Lamar Odom can be that ultimate small forward to defend the wing and shoot from distance along the front line when Andrew Bynum returns.

The Lakers are said to be looking hard for a more traditional small forward with shooting range. Perhaps the Washington Wizards' Caron Butler.

Washington will never trade Butler. I hope they dont resign Arenas, keep Butler, and add a good big man.

I dig Lamar, and I'd hate to see him leave LA. But if he has to go, why not send him back home to New (York) Jersey for Richard Jefferson? Or Caron, I'm cool with that too.
What about trading Vlad Rad straight up for Kapono? It'd be like a UCLA reunion w/ Ariza, Farmar, and Kapono.

This rumor is so stupid, the Wizards are at a playoff spot in the pathethic East, why would they want to give up Caron. Arenas will be returning soon and this team will be most likely at the top of the East, would be pretty stupid to trade Caron now. But who cares as long as it makes the Lakers better, teams can keep throwing their best players at us for our garbage. :)

Wow! That's one I didn't see coming. I knew the Lakers hated to part with Caron, but to trade Odom for him at this time? The rebounding from Odom won't be needed as much when Bynum returns. And Caron is a decent rebounder. But we have to remember that even when the Wiz have all three of their big guns they are still a medicore team at best. Caron with Kobe, Bynum and Gasol? Hmmm. I don't know if I would gamble by trading Lamar. What if we traded Luke and Vladamir for Caron? I love the front line of Odom, Bynum and Gasol. That's three guys over 6-10 with two over 7ft. With Caron we go smaller, but more accurate in pt production. OH man. I don't know. It could be a great trade for both teams. Odom is a triple double threat. He can rebound like it's no ones business.

oh man this would be such as sweet trade, but I don't see any pieces that the Lakers can throw at Washignton to make them give up Caron, unless Mitch can pull off another stunt and give them useless Mihm and someone else.

Lamar is one of my fav player i followed his career since days at rhode island. I dont think Caron Butler would be a good trade. Lamar with his size, he can do more than Butler.

The wizards will not trade Caron for Odom strait up. I think they need to bring in a third team, with some players that want to be traded. How about Minnesota? Try this trade on for size:
Lakers get Caron Butler and Sebastian Telfair
Wizards get Lamar Odom and Garald Green
T-Wolves get Darius Songaila and a 2nd rounder
This works for everyone. Lakers get an All-Star. The wizard get good talent back. And Green and Telfair have been wanting a trade. So that works for everyone.

Heck yeah! Butler will fit very well in the triangle offense! Very similar to S.Pippen cuz he can make that consistent 15-18' jumpers! unlike Odom...

So who do they trade fto get a small forward of the calibre of Caron??? Lamarr?
That would truly be a bold move....to upset the chemistry factor so close to the playoffs.
Vlade Radmonovich & Ronnie Turiaf? Mbeng & Sasch Vuachich?
These are the only trading chips other than the starting 5 the Lakers can afford to part with.
Certainly none of the point guards.

Lets think, maybe the Lakers already have a small forward with shooting range that doesn't hog the ball. His name is Luke Walton. Can you say "chemistry" Bulter would demand too many shots, taking away from Gasol and Bryants ego's!

If the Lakers need something it would be an upgrade at the point. Fisher should be coming off the bench. or not playing at all. Farmar is already better.

I like Caron, but Lamar's versatility is too much. Yeah, Igludola, C. Butler, R. Jefferson, Ak47, even R Artest would be a "SWEET" fit, but none can go down and play the 4 if needed and none have lamar's passing skills(maybe AK, but he's more of a headcase that Lamar). I don't want to do anything else! Keep it As it!
