Bynum says knee is 'unstable'

Los Angeles Lakers center Andrew Bynum provided his own injury update Friday night the Los Angeles Times reported. Bynum said his left knee still felt "unstable" and continued to cause a "little bit" of pain.

"Jumping, landing, backpedaling, quick change of directions are still a problem," he said. "In a couple weeks from now, I might be good. I might not be good. I'm not sure."

Bynum will continue to run on an anti-gravity treadmill that reduces a runner's impact, but he is not allowed to practice or take part in contact drills until he is cleared by doctors. Bynum has been out since Jan. 13, when he suffered a bone bruise on the knee and a briefly dislocated kneecap. There is no official timetable for his return.

Wow... Without him I don't think the lakers have what it takes.... It will be fun to watch but probably will have it taken from them again. I agree with No. 2 let him rest and try to get the best from everyone. I am sure that at full force (Bynum and Ariza) this team has what it takes to go all the way!

No need for him to come back anytime soon. The Lake show is running good. Maybe if he comes back in the conference or nba finals he maybe useful, but don't waste a spot on him until then. GO LAKERS!!!!

this guy is such a major pussie. scared of facing shaq in the playoffs and now scared that bryant will blame him for losing if he does come back. this kid should just give up on the nba completely. his style of play reminds me of kwame brown but at least kwame isnt a pussie.

The experts are pecking the Spurs as the top team in the West. I disagree, and wouldn't be surprised if the Spurs get bounced in the first round. They look old and slow, lacking offensive power and defensive intensity. Their hunger is still there, but it's the hunger to eat a big steak and take a long vacation.
There is no team in the West whom the Lakers cannot beat with their current active players. Sure Bynum will put them over the top. Without him they will have to put themselves over the top. They have big players that can clog up the middle. That DJ MBenga guy, is better than he his stats. Jackson is not playing him or Turiaf now, opting instead for the two guards Vujacic and Farmer. That's to develop an outside game, as they already have an inside game in Gasol, Bryant, and Odom.

Anybody who says we dont neeed Bynum to win it all gots 2 b smoking. If i could smoke i'd ask u to send me some cause you got some killa. the lakers cant guard the 3 point line nor penetration. Need i remind you we just lost to the blazers, grizzlies & bobcats for those reasons. No Bynum No ring

He wont be back untill the 2nd round of the playoffs at the earliest. The lakeres can win it all without him. But if he comes back he will only be able to contribute off the bench. But that will give the lakers an even better bench than they already have.

ALLRIGHT YOU MUGS!!! Just chill out and smoke a cigar. Drue will be fine. He will come back in the second round and will show up like Mighty Mouse to save the day. I think we can come out the west and who ever will come out or the west will be beaten up and fatigued and wil struggle w/Boston who might be fresher coming out of the east.
    Keep hope alive!!!
