Jim Boylan

Jim Boylan had the look of a condemned man granted a last meal. On probably his last night as the Chicago Bulls' coach, what were the first words out of his mouth?

That one of his players had shown up late for the game. Yes, again.

A season of insubordination, infighting, oversleeping, missed flights, the dumping of a key player and the firing of a head coach-maybe two-came to a merciful end Wednesday night at the United Center, where the Bulls beat the Toronto Raptors 107-97.

Yep, really doesn't matter though. The Chicago fans, like a bunch of mindless sheep, will keep supporting Da' Bulls eventhough they are a bunch of losers. This is why things won't change. Michael Jordan was a long, long time ago folks. Time to clean house from Paxson on down to the players. GET RID OF THEM ALL!!

Paxson does carry his share of the blame but in the end it was and is all the players fault. They were a disgrace to the NBA, Bulls and Chicago! Skiles is a good coach but was stuck with a bunch of babies that didn't want to grow up.

Their turnaround from contender to pretender was just as fast and bad as Indiana's & Miami's (Miami's may SEEM worse, but they at least got a ring before imploding.) If nothing else, the Bulls still have a decent core. But without a bona-fide star they're doomed even in the East.
Thank God the Lakers didn't do it, but had Chicago acquired Kobe, they would have been a 4 or 5 seed, setting up Kobe vs. LeBron in the best East first-round matchup ever. Instead, they are indeed laughingstocks...luckily, the Knicks and Heat look so much worse so less attention will be paid.
(JS, for some reason, your last comment reminded me of the Denver Broncos...)

The Bulls have been saying this for 10 years.
The 'show" dynasty hasn't been on as long as this Bulls Dynasty talk.

There is no dynasty in the making, for a dynasty you need a guy who is a star in every aspect of the game, being vocal leader, being the go to guy down the strech, and keeping the locker room united and focused on the prize. No one on this roster has that ability, what we should have done is traded the young group of second tier players that over-acheived last year when their value was higher than it ever will be again. Not trading Lamarcus Aldrige for Tyrus Thomas because he can jump higher but has character issues would have been nice.

Good thing they won there last two games. That really helps their draft positon.Should have pulled a Miami and had star players sit out last 30 games.

The Bulls are just a bunch of undersized perimeter players. Look, keep Kirk Hinrich and Luol Deng. You'll have to keep Larry Hughes because of his contract, but those two are the only guys I would keep. Get rid of everybody else. Ben Gordon is a waste of space -- he's undersized and defends like a little girl. The only reason Hinrich has struggled is because he has to facilitate an offense that can't score. All they do is take contested jumpshots. They just need to add a post player that can get it done on offense -- that'll make Deng and Hinrich much more effective.

yeah this season of disappointement is over and i'm glade for it, this was a season of lows for the team and the city. The team had a chance to improve their roster with either the Gasol or Kobe trade but they didn't want to depart with players who underachived all season. This shows that Jerry has no real commitment to winning big again. Their are a few players worht keeping but the team needs a overhaul in important areas like pg and center.

The Bulls have problems... more specifically, player problems.. Gordon is a thorn, hes definitely not a team guy.. hes a scorer and thats really about it, but he wants to get paid like he does more.. if this guy would just sit back and think about long term, he could be one of the best 6th man to ever play this game and be paid well for it.. i dont think he's a starter because you dont want a guy chucking at the beginning of the game, but he is great when comming off the bench.. he gets starter minutes anyways and he's on the floor at the end of games too.. but ego's are going to be ego's.. maybe if he played a little defense and averaged more than 3rebs/3assits and shot 45% from the floor instead of 43.4%, then he could probably make for than $10mil a year.. the guy wants $12-14mil a year.. i remember his quote at the beginning of the season too.. when asked why he thinks he deserves more than $10mil a year, he said "shouldnt you pay you best player the most money?"

Another player who under-achieved was Deng.. he's a good guy and was injured alot but when healthy, hes one of the top small forwards in the game.. the guy has post game, squares you up, shoots the mid-range and can score on someone one-on-one so he's somewhat of a good go-to guy also since teams may have to double him in the post.. he doesnt force shots, rebounds well, and plays defense.. but the key words were "when healthy".. Now Hinrich, i have no idea!! What happened to dude? he's got all the tools, he can shoot, pass, run a team, understands game flow, plays hella defense, and was a guy you felt comfortable with the ball in his hands.. i have no idea where that all went this year

Whats next?.. the Bulls have some nice youngs in Noah and Tyrus (now trading Aldridge for Tyrus was a dumb dumb move, imagine Aldrigde next to Noah? or even B.Wallace if you want to go back, nice!!).. Sefolosha is nice too and Nocioni is a guy every team needs.. trading for L.Hughes was a gamble but it seems like its going to work out so now you have a backcourt of Hinrich and Hughes.. they both can play good defense and their games compliment each other.. id like to see how they do for one full healthy year together.. also having Sefolosha backing them up is solid.. now you got the 3 spot with hopefully Deng staying healthy too.. Gooden is a smart savy vet who can do alot and is a solid starter, Noah and Tyrus are comming into their own, A.Gray should work his tail off cause he could be a nice big in the middle for the Bulls, starting or off the bench.. and Nocioni is the X factor, the do all guy who can play the 3 or 4.. it still looks good but we'll see.. why didnt the Bulls just pay the luxury tax and get Gasol? Nocioni wouldve been the main guy in the deal going so why not?.. Gasol, Noah, Tyrus, A.Gray, B.Wallace (even if he still gets traded then its Gooden) as your bigs!!!!.. good Lord!!.. but no.. i dont get it

Keep Gooden and Sefelosa ... and Gray ... and Hughes due to his salary ... and either Heinrich or Deng.
Duhon is already gone ... unrestricted FA.
Gordon is a restricted FA who wants a mega-salary so it's tough to deal him. Have to keep him as the sixth man for one more year.
That leaves Thomas and Noah as trade bait ... plus either Heinrich or Deng.
Look for a draft day trade, giving up the Bulls #1 pick (we don't need any more youth here) to whoever wants it, but they must also take some of the trade bait.
In return? The best deal you can get. More pieces to the puzzle. More trade bait. New people and a new chemistry for the new coach.
