Bulls' Rose missing opener and more?

“DerrickIt was very unclear on Monday if the Chicago Bulls' Derrick Rose(notes), the NBA Rookie of the Year, would be ready to get on the court for the team's season opener against the San Antonio Spurs on Oct. 29. Rose was saying he would be definitely and Bulls head coach Vinny Del Negro was saying, "Whoa, Nellie!"

Well, Rose is apparently coming over to the other side. He reportedly woke up with pain in his injured ankle yesterday morning after running for 20 or 30 minutes on Monday, according to the Chicago Tribune

Del Negro was apparently not amused when reporters asked him if Rose could miss the season. Still, you gotta think the Bulls are happy they didn't pick Michael Beasley(notes).

    Come on #4 comparing slavery to college sports is insult to African Americans and I am pretty sure slaves didn't get scholarships that put them through school and prepare them for their future. Going to North Carolina for 4 to 5 years cost about a half million dollars. All of you living expenses including food, rent, books, cost of classes, and a gym to work out in. Yeah that sounds like slavery.

    Hey Carlo, Post #4, Yeah them poor College Players,the ones on the free ride,they have it sooo bad.Such a bad life.DO you really think this?,Now do I think the Schools make a boat load of money off the players, HELL YES!!, But Slaves?, no I dont think so.

    It looks like Rose is a bust, very talanted, but much like the less talanted Bynum, always breaking down. At least he got a big contract, so he is set for life, and he had one great playoff against the Celtics, to tell his grand children some day. Cant play defence to save his life. I hope he plays this year, but if he doesnt he can cry all the way to the bank.

    anglo where are you from? Istanbul??? Do they have basketball games over there or are you even able to watch games??? Rose a bust!!?? haha DUMBEST thing I heard all morning. Rose plays defense if you want to talk about someone not playing defense then look at Gordon on Detroit. And one again you comment out of stupidity just like 90% of all the other no knowledge clowns on here. I guess everybody cries in your eyes. Rose has never ever cried and he never will.
