Bulls Gordon, Deng in line for contract extentions

The Chicago Bulls hope to come to terms on contract extensions for Ben Gordon and Luol Deng before the season starts. But with training camp starting Monday, nothing is imminent.

The deadline to get contract extensions done is Oct. 31, the day the Bulls open the regular season at New Jersey. Gordon and Deng , the team's top scorers, are most likely looking for more than the $47.5 million, five-year extension that the Bulls agreed to give Kirk Hinrich on deadline day last year.

    the bulls are way under the salary cap. We can afford to sign them to long term deals. Get this done. These are two future all stars for a long time.

    I agree with (5) Gordon is nothing more than another barbosa at best a 6man, not a starter and very off and on, actually he is not even as good as barbosa he is more of a luther head but than again luther can play some D. So in other words Gordon is just a spotty shooter that cant play defense and is short... hmm Jamal Crawford????
    As for the long terms and the money def, sign Deng to long term and large. Remeber your own drafter players dont affect you with Salary Cap going over. Bulls Eastern Confrence Champs 08

    #6 first of all deng was one of the hottest players in the playoffs last year, i think he averaged over 25 points a game. I don't agree with signing gordon, he's a virus and if we don't get rid of him soon he is going to single handedly keep the bulls out of the finals. He can't play defense and he doesn't pass.

    i agree with signing Deng to A LOT MORE than what they're giving Hinrich, but Gordon is a 6th man at best... no D whatsoever... some of the guys are right, maybe it would be best to trade him while the bulls can still get some value in return.

    I think its awesome how that poster set their goals at "Eastern Conference Champs 08!" I've honestly never seen that before.
    buts its good to see people being real about the fact that the East is still garbage compared to the West.

    They need more for a championship. Its cool that Pax is trying his luck with no names. I mean, we're not bad for what we got but... we need someone to carry the franchise. Ben Wallace doesn't count.

    The Bulls need to sign them both, Deng is a future super star and $50 million for 4-5 years
    could end up being cheap. Goedon isn't worth more then Captain Kirk, however next year
    when we are trying to sign a proven star type Power Foward we will need Gordons Salary
    to make it work, Gordon is our trade bait. If Tyrus Thomas can improve as much this year
    as Deng did last year, we won't be so desperate for a new PF and Gordon would be great off
    the bench. He can't play "D" but when he's on, he's a gun slinger. I hope we play Sefalosha
    more he and JamesOn Currey could be great for this team. We aren't back to Jordan days,
    but we are finally going in the right direction.

    Why are all yall hating on Gordon?
    I think he is one of the most explosive SGs in the NBA. And he has the athleticism to be a potentially good defender. EG playoffs. When Gordon is on fire, he single handed wins games. Like his Jump Shoot Rhythm is really really hard to catch. Sign Both of them. Give Deng more money. But sign gordon.

    hinrich 10 mil a year, nicioni 7 mil a year, deng 14 mil a year, gordon 12 mil a year....and all the others that are supposed to be so good...how much are they going to ask for...that means all that money and no real superstar....try winning a championship with that...that is another KNICKS in the making....way to go pax....

    And can't-play-the fourth-quarter-wallace for 12 mil a year....for playing 25 minutes a game with 35% foul shooting....hinrich 10 mil a year, nicioni 7 mil a year, deng 14 mil a year, gordon 12 mil a year.......that is another KNICKS in the making....way to go pax....

    Stop under-rating Gordon and stop over-rating Deng. I don't understand why so many people are so in love with Deng. Example: I had a guy tell me that he would rather have Deng over Carmello....The reason...At least Deng plays D. Are you kidding me? This is the logic I hear all the time. I agree that Deng is on his way to becoming a very GOOD player, but he still has work to do. As for Gordon, without his scoring as starter or off the bench the Bulls have very little scoring punch. Yes, he is poor defender, but overall defense in the NBA is poor.On the other hand Kirk plays great D but can't shoot and makes poor decisions. Does that make him garbge too.

    I can't understand how anyone can give hinrich 10 mil a year and pay nicioni 7 mil a year and wallace for 12 mil a year...what a joke......and you still have to pay up for deng, gordon, thomas, duhon, noah, sefolosha, to name a few....and they still don't have a bona fide superstar that can take the load in the playoffs....it looks more like the overpaid KNICKS....paying hinrich 10 mil...nocioni 7 mil ...and wallace 12 mil set the standard for paying for mediocrity...now, what are you going to pay for the other guys....way to go PAX.

    lmao gordon is garbage? he is one of the reasons why the bulls win games . lol why do you think we lose when hes not playing well? lol n when hes shottin n feeling good we dominate .
    hes the only player that steps up for us . deng good but he mostly goes at the second half. sometimes
