Bulls' Derrick Rose planning to play in opener

“DerrickThe Bulls kick off their season on October 29 and they may be doing it without Rookie of the Year Derrick Rose(notes), who has been day-to-day with an inflamed tendon behind his right ankle, according to ESPN. But Rose is insisting there is no way he will miss that game even though he also says he is currently only feeling like he's only got 80 percent of himself to give.

"I will be playing for sure," Rose said. "You see a lot of things not playing, but it is killing me not to be out there." But coach Vinny Del Negro said basically the opposite:" It is possible he will not be ready for the opener against San Antonio. I hope he practices [Tuesday] but it is really day to day. I don't want to get him out there and have him sore the next day," Del Negro said.

    This kid seems like the real deal . . . I for one cannot wait to see how much he has grown and will grow in his second season.

    Rose is overrated. Rondo schooled the hell out of him in the playoffs.

    I'm hoping Rose does really well this season. He's proved to everyone (including me) that he's deserving of the recognition. Especially considering how he lit up Boston AND Rondo in the playoffs. @#5 Go start a blog and whine about it. Haha...

    RONDO is the one who's overated. Rondo looks good because he plays w/ garnet, pierce ang allen. Put him to a losing team lets see who's better.

    sry but CP3 has a killer crossover. While Roses' crossover is pretty solid, it will never surpass CP3.

    #20 kdot try and learn the meaning and terms of sports, there is no way rose is a monster, he is only 6ft and for sure that aint no monster, so stop imitating and come real, real monsters are huge 7 ft, broad, dominating,tear down rim, hard to guard, exciting players such as shaq, studamire,nene and so on, so stop jumping on every wagon you see cause if you love rides you will get f@#k.

    #9 you're the [profane]in' idiot. Compare rose's stats to Rondo's in their playoff matchup. Rondo averaged a triple double on him. Besides Rose plays no defense!
