Larry Brown is applying a full-court press in his bid to become a head coach after resigning Thursday as executive vice president of the Philadelphia 76ers. Brown has said since February how much he missed coaching and yearned to return. According to his agent, Joe Glass, nothing is imminent.

His name has been linked to the vacant Stanford position. In the NBA, he has been mentioned as a possible coach of the Atlanta Hawks if they don't re-sign Mike Woodson.

This guy is a psycho drama-queen who lives in a total fantasy-world. Anyone who would even touch this nutjob with a ten-foot-pole deserves all they get - which will be a good reaming, basically.

He's not going back to NY where the team he left is still the same as he left it. Chicago, Dallas (if Dallas gets eliminated once more in the 1st round, you can bet that Cuban will fire Johnson), Washington (I'm sure they'd pursue Brown if they get eliminated by Cleveland), and Golden State would be teams that could use Brown's expertise as these are playoff contenders that are in dire need of a new direction.

Some of you guys need to look at his coaching record..Nuggets, UCLA (Final Four), Spurs, Clippers (in the playoffs TWICE in the 90's, thats Deserving of Hall of Fame right there), Pacers, Sixers (finals), Kansas (Nat'l Champs) , Detroit (NBA Champs)

#1 you're trippin. brown didnt mess up the knicks, blame that on dolan and isiah. brown is a good coach, and he is known for jumping from job to job. so if you're gonna heap scorn on the guy, maybe you should do the same to the guys that hired him, knowing that he's been doing that his entire career. what kind of dumba*s hires a vagabond type of guy without thinking he is likely to break out in a couple years. the fact is that the guy can coach, his track record proves that. i know for a fact that there are several teams in the league that could benefit from his coaching. even teams that are in the playoffs now.

Brown can give the Hawks a veteran coach that knows how to develop teams. The Hawks will be a very good team if they hire Brown, get a offensive Center in the draft (Roy Hibbert,Kenny George),and a backup PF.

Brown only does well with good teams that he acquires. Anything else he destroys and then quits. Maybe Russia will offer him a job.

Sad to say but I think Avery's done in DAL........Brown may be exactly what these SOFTIES need, Cuban should probably either make him GM as well or DEFINITELY find 1 that isn't named Nelson

After the way my beloved SUNS have performed against the evil empire Spurs the past 3 games it would be hard to not consider Brown or maybe even Westphal if he becomes available.

These are teams that I think may make a move on Larry which have the potential of being playoff contenders if given the right direction:
    1. Dallas Mavericks= They were destined to win a championship two years ago and they were eliminated in the 1st round last year despite having the best record in the league (it happened to the Sonics in '94). These Mavs look banged up despite having J-Kidd in the lineup. They're bound to be eliminated once again in the 1st round. They have great talent to make it to the top but they lack direction.
    2. Denver Nuggets= A.I., Melo, Nene, Camby, K-Mart and they're struggling? What's going on in Denver? Maybe Brown can make some sense out of it.
    3. Chicago Bulls= They have decent talent but they stopped listening to Skiles. They have the stuff to be a force to be reckoned with the right direction.
    4. Golden State Warriors= They were the surprise team last year and they collapsed this year. Is Nellie getting tired?
    5. Phoenix Suns= Same as with the Mavs and Nuggets. This team has the stuff to make it to the top and they've been having early exits in the playoffs. Suns management may run out of patience with D'Antoni. Shaq was brought in to strengthen the front court and it's not helping either.
