NBA - Scoop Du Jour

Miami Heat guard Dwyane Wade(notes) and Toronto Raptors forward Chris Bosh(notes) are near the top of the class of players that become unrestricted free agents at 12:01 a.m. ET Thursday.

The pair have been friends for some time, and are planning to visit two teams that have plenty of salary-cap space, the New York Knicks and New Jersey Nets. And they just might make the visits together, Yahoo! Sports' Marc J. Spears reports.

Agent Henry Thomas, who reps both of the players, told Spears that it could happen that way. "Their friendship is good," Thomas said. "As a result of going through this experience, their relationship will be a lot stronger."

Thomas also noted that plenty of information will be shared between the two about what teams are offering what to who since they are both represented by the same company. Thomas also said that while no "free-agent summit" with the pair and LeBron James(notes) happened last weekend, the trio do often talk to one another, as well as a few other soon-to-be free agents, about possible scenarios.

Meanwhile, Raptors general manager Bryan Colangelo said he doesn't want to lose Bosh for nothing and is happy to set up a sign-and-trade scenario so his team can get some compensation. If Bosh decides to join Wade with the Heat, the Raptors will likely ask for young forward Michael Beasley(notes) and point guard Mario Chalmers(notes), Spears notes.
