NBA - Sports Rumors

Carlos Boozer will miss a 15th straight game tonight when the Utah Jazz visit the New Jersey Nets Wednesday, but Andrei Kirilenko will play. Boozer, a two-time NBA All-Star power forward, has been out since sustaining a strained left quadriceps tendon and bruised kneecap in a Nov. 19 game vs. Milwaukee.

The Jazz — who never did give an estimated timetable for how long he'd be out beyond "day-to-day" — had been calling him "doubtful" on Tuesday, but after today's morning shootaround they ruled out his playing tonight.

Kirilenko, who played in the Jazz's loss at Boston on Monday night, on Tuesday was being called a "game-time decision" due to a strained upper-back muscle. But after today's shootaround, the team said the sixth-man forward would play when the Jazz visit the Nets at the Izod Center in stop No. 2 of a five-game Eastern road swing.

The trip continues with a back-to-back set Friday night at Detroit and Saturday night at Chicago, and concludes with a visit to Milwaukee on Tuesday night.

Paul MIllsap is starting to become an elite starter in this league. The main reason is because of Boozer's injury. Boozer won't even be with the team next year - Time for the jazz to make a trade!

I thought Boozer was perhaps the most durable player to ever come out of Duke. After watching night in and night out of Stockton and Malone going hard every day for soo many years...I'm just totally disapointed with some of todays Jazz players, they should be ashamed. As a lifetime NBA fan I'd like to see that old school NBA work ethic return to the NBA amongst all it's players or have em all see Bernie (Detroit Pistons) Strength and Conditioning Coach. He's the best in the Business.

Can anyone here really tell me what Boozer is really thinking about (besides money) when he decides to announce he'll opt out on his contract at the end of the season? If he was really smart he would get off the bench, play better than millsap's numbers, and than decide what to do next. To say he's opting out on his contract right now while he sits injured on the bench is not only inappropiate, but probably a calling card to the Jazz to move on to someone in front of them that's already showing more consistancy (millsap) than boozer has done in the games he has played.
