Brandon Roy has finally been given clearance to resume practice and, assuming he does not experience a setback, play in the Portland Trail Blazers' next game Saturday night at the Rose Garden.
Roy, who has missed the last four Blazers games with an injured right hamstring, was examined Wednesday night by athletic trainer Jay Jensen and team doctors, and ultimately given the go-ahead to practice on Friday.
"They said it was cool as long as I felt OK," Roy said after the Blazers' victory over the Detroit Pistons.
Prior to Wednesday's game, Roy said that if it were up to him, he would have played against the Pistons. But the Blazers have been cautious with their All-Star guard's injury to insure that it does not become a long-term problem, jeopardizing their playoff aspirations."

Sad isn't it? The Lakers get more air time than Tim Tebow or USC on ESPN...........lol

Oh, and Brandon Roy is the type of player the NBA should have more of, but they don't want him.
Roy is humble, works hard, doesn't trash talk, and chooses to finger roll instead of slam.
The NBA wants brash, "sellable" personalities, and they want the Jam for hilights. B-Roy, however, is about the team, and all he tries to do is get better. He's one of the few young role model players in the NBA today.
Not a single line of visible ink on the guy.

Interesting thing about the Lakers and the Blazers -- neither team can beat the other at home.
You probably hear a lot of people whining about the officiating during Lakers games -- and I'm no different. Last year when the Lakers were in Portland I saw the worst non-call of my life. The ball bounced over the top and hit the top of the backboard -- making it a dead ball and turnover. This -- perhaps easiest thing to see and call in the NBA (all you need to do is follow the ball) -- was not called and enabled the Lakers to NOT turn it over immediately. This was the final of 3 straight possessions for the Lakers with blatantly favorable officiating as time ran down in the 4th quarter.
It didn't matter, though, and Portland won. My point is, that both of these teams play each other differently when they're home and even the officiating can't overcome it . It will be interesting to see what happens when the Lakers come up to Portland this year. I do hate the Lakers, but I must be honest and say they do have a scary good team that Portland can beat.

anyway, i'm glad to hear that the portland trailblazers were able to deal with the absence of their star player. i understand that's not always an easy thing to do, but to me, it's something they should feel proud of doing. like last night's game, for example, portland made a great play against detroit, though they ended beating the pistons by only one point. i don't know for sure how successfully the blazers could've dealt with the absence of their star player but i think they did an OK job handling it. i'm just glad to hear that brandon roy is in better condition and that he will continue from where he left off and hopefully become a blazer, leading his team toward greatness. my most favorite NBA player maybe Kobe Bryant, but i would also consider Brandon Roy a favorite as well. go B-Roy!!!!!
