The Wizards will look to end their four-game losing streak when they visit the Hawks for a meeting of two of the NBA’s worst teams.
Washington and Atlanta are tied for the fourth-lowest win total in the league. Both teams are mired in four-game losing streaks thanks to porous defense and a lack of talent on their respective rosters.
McGrady ripped Washington’s defense for 62 points Wednesday as the Magic beat the Wizards 108-99. McGrady shot 20-for-37 from the field, including 5-for-14 from 3-point range, and made 17 of 26 free throws in 46 minutes.
Arenas leads the Wizards with 20 points and five assists per game.
Washington suffered another blow when starting guard Juan Dixon sprained his ankle in the first quarter. Dixon, who had scored 61 points in his previous three games, is listed as day-to-day.
The Hawks are coming in off a 94-80 defeat at the hands of the Milwaukee Bucks on Wednesday.
Atlanta’s Stephen Jackson, who had scored at least 15 points in each of his previous 23 games, had 11 against Milwaukee on 3-for-12 shooting.
Atlanta, which lost its seventh straight on the road, was led by Jason Terry, who had 20 points, eight rebounds and a team-high six assists.
The Hawks also got 18 points and nine rebounds from Chris Crawford.
