Dwyane Wade has been one of the NBA’s better rookies this season. Too bad the young phenom can’t stay healthy.

Wade will be in street clothes when the Miami Heat meet the Toronto Raptors at United Airlines Arena.

Wade has a bone bruise in his right foot and is expected to be out a week to 10 days. X-rays and an MRI exam were negative and Wade’s foot is in a protective walking boot, the team said Monday.

Wade, who is averaging 16.7 points, 4.4 rebounds and a team-high 4.4 assists, has already missed 18 games with injuries to his left foot, wrist and hip.

The fifth overall pick in this year’s draft, Wade hurt his right foot Sunday when he landed at the bottom of a three-player pile after trying to block a shot during a 108-104 loss at Milwaukee. He played 15 minutes after suffering the injury but sat out the fourth quarter.

Eddie Jones led Miami with 25 points on 10-of-18 shooting and added five rebounds. Lamar Odom had 22 points and seven rebounds.

The Heat, who allowed their highest point total of the season, have lost three straight.

“There was nothing positive about this one,” Miami coach Stan Van Gundy said.

The Raptors have had their own injury issues to deal with. Losers of nine straight, Toronto has been playing without Vince Carter, Jalen Rose and Alvin Williams.

Toronto has dropped the last six without Carter, who is averaging 21.2 points, because of a left ankle sprain.

However, Carter was activated from the injured list Tuesday despite favoring the ankle in practice while shooting jumpers. Carter said he is not yet at 100 percent.

The Raptors are coming off a 91-82 loss to Boston on Sunday.

Milt Palacio had a season-high 19 points and eight assists for Toronto.

“I’ve never lost nine games in a row before,” Toronto rookie Chris Bosh said. “We’re really struggling. They just got us when we’re down.”
