OAKLAND, CALIFORNIA (TICKER) —Two teams currently on the outside looking in at the playoffs meet up in an important contest on Sunday when the Washington Wizards continue their season-high six-game road trip against the Golden State Warriors.

Washington is in ninth place in the Eastern Conference, one game behind eighth-place Milwaukee, while Golden State is in 10th in the West, 3 1/2 behind eighth-place Houston and three back of Phoenix.

The Wizards, who have lost back-to-back contests, opened their trip with a 109-83 setback at Phoenix on Friday.

Michael Jordan paced Washington with 14 points but shot only 4-of-12, while Jerry Stackhouse added just seven points on 3-of-10 shooting.

Washington, which is playing its second contest in a stretch of eight of nine on the road, has lost 11 of 13 away from the MCI Center.

Golden State has lost six of nine, including a 117-107 defeat to Houston here on Friday that dropped the Warriors to 1-1 on their three-game homestand.

Gilbert Arenas scored 25 points, Earl Boykins 22 and Antawn Jamison 21 for the Warriors, who embark on a five-game road trip after tonight’s contest.

Golden State had lost nine of 12 to Washington before posting a 104-99 triumph on January 10.

The Warriors have won two in a row over the Wizards at The Arena.
