PORTLAND, OREGON (TICKER) —The Portland Trail Blazers try to open a one-game lead for the fourth Western Conference playoff spot when they host the Pacific Division-leading Sacramento Kings on Saturday at the Rose Garden.

Portland has a one-half game lead over idle Minnesota for the fourth playoff berth and home-court advantage in a first-round playoff series.

The Trail Blazers, who have won back-to-back games and five of seven, opened a three-game homestand with a 94-83 triumph over Houston on Wednesday.

Derek Anderson scored 21 points and seven assists for Portland, which shot 53 percent.

Sacramento has won consecutive contests and seven of nine. On Thursday, the Kings defeated the rival Los Angeles Lakers, 107-99, behind 26 points and 11 rebounds from Chris Webber.

The Kings have taken two of their first three meetings with the Blazers but lost the last contest, 119-113 at home in overtime on December 28. Sacramento won here on November 23, 95-94.
