LOS ANGELES (TICKER) —The Los Angeles Lakers look to continue their hot play while the Minnesota Timberwolves will try to avoid their third consecutive loss when the two teams square off at the Staples Center on Saturday.
The T-Wolves have taken both meetings from the Lakers this season.
Since falling a season-high eight games under .500 at 11-19 after a loss to Sacramento on December 22, the Lakers have gone 22-7, including wins in seven of their last eight games.
Los Angeles is riding a six-game winning streak at home.
Kevin Garnett recorded 27 points and a career-high 24 rebounds, but it wasn’t enough to keep the T-Wolves from losing in overtime at Sacramento on Wednesday, 96-95.
Minnesota’s grueling five-game road trip started with losses at Seattle and the Kings. After Los Angeles, the Timberwolves visit Phoenix and Dallas before returning home to face San Antonio.
