Bonzi Wells scored 18 of his career-high 37 points in the third quarter, when Portland turned a two-point edge into a 78-60 bulge. Wells scored as many points as the Pistons in the period.
Phoenix had lost five of six before posting a 104-97 victory at San Antonio on Tuesday. Stephon Marbury collected 35 points and 13 assists and rookie Amare Stoudemire added 17 and 11 rebounds in the win.
The Suns shot 59 percent (39-of-66) overall and 77 percent from behind the arc (10-of-13). The Spurs connected on just 3-of-26 from 3-point range.
Phoenix has not won back-to-back games since a three-game winning streak from January 31-February 3.
Phoenix has won five of the last seven matchups, including the first two this season.
