DENVER (TICKER) —The Denver Nuggets try to snap a nin-game losing streak and win a season series against the Portland Trail Blazers for the first time in eight years on Wednesday when they continue a four-game homestand.

The Nuggets have won two of three meetings with the Trail Blazers this season, including an 82-81 victory here on January 10. They have not won a season series from Portland since winning three of four games during the 1994-95 campaign.

Denver has won six of its last 10 games with Portland, which won the last meeting at the Rose Garden on January 28.

The Nuggets opened their homestand with a 94-89 loss to the Golden State Warriors on Monday.

Juwan Howard scored 29 points and rookie Nene Hilario collected 14 and 12 rebounds for Denver, which has lost nine straight games to match its longest slide of the season.

The Nuggets have not lost 10 straight games since a 24-game slide during the 1997-98 season.

Portland avoided a three-game losing streak with a 89-86 home win over Atlanta on Tuesday.

Rasheed Wallace had 24 points and nine rebounds and Zach Randolph added 16 and nine as the Blazers played without center Dale Davis, who sat out with an upper respiratory infection.

Portland has won three of its last four road games and is 18-11 away from the Rose Garden this season.
