SAN ANTONIO (TICKER) —The San Antonio Spurs seek their 11th victory in 12 games when they host the Miami Heat on Tuesday.
The Spurs defeated Indiana on Saturday, 105-96, for their third straight home win since a loss to Memphis on January 22.
Tim Duncan collected 21 points and 10 rebounds, Tony Parker 18 points and Malik Rose 15 for the Spurs, who shot 57 percent and limited the Pacers to 41 percent.
The Spurs are 9-0 at home against teams from the Eastern Conference and have won 12 of their last 13 at the SBC Center.
Miami, which is opening a three-game road trip, snapped a three-game losing streak with a 100-90 home triumph over Chicago on Saturday.
Eddie Jones, who had missed the Heat’s 1-3 road trip due to a strained left groin, scored 23 points, Malik Allen added 22 and Travis Best 21 in the win.
Rookie Caron Butler sat out the game because of severe flu-like symptoms. He spent two nights in a hospital in nearby Coral Gables and will miss this contest and the Heat’s game at New Orleans on Wednesday in order to recuperate from dehydration. He may join the team for Friday’s game at Memphis.
Fellow rookie Rasual Butler is expect to start in his place.
The Spurs edged the Heat in Miami on February 1, 67-65. San Antonio has won three in a row and 14 of 15 all time at home against the Heat.
