The Pacers suffered their season-high fourth straight loss, 105-96, to the San Antonio Spurs on Saturday.
Artest, whose injury has been described as a sore right elbow, will likely miss Tuesday’s game.
“I don’t know what happened,” said Artest who averaged under 11 points in the fruitless four-game trip. “It’s not bending. I can’t shoot.”
Unfortunately for Indiana, Artest is not alone. The Pacers, who are shooting a mediocre 44 percent from the field this season, have fallen shy of 41 percent (134-329) in their past four games.
Indiana is hoping a return to Conseco Fieldhouse, where it is 24-3 this season, will turn things around.
The Wizards have lost three of their past four and two straight on the road.
On January 4, Jordan enjoyed one of his best games of the season with 41 points and 12 rebounds in 53 minutes as the Wizards posted a 107-104 home victory over the Pacers.
Indiana, which was without Artest for the January 4 contest, holds a 2-1 lead in the season series.
