PORTLAND, OREGON (TICKER) —The Milwaukee Bucks hope to have Gary Payton and Desmond Mason in their lineup on Saturday when they cap a four-game road trip against the Portland Trail Blazers at the Rose Garden.
Payton and Mason, whom the Bucks acquired from Seattle on Thursday in a blockbuster trade for Ray Allen, Kevin Ollie and Ronald Murray, sat out Friday’s 88-58 blowout loss to the SuperSonics in order to take required physicals, which they both passed.
Milwaukee, which scored just 22 points in the second half, shot just 33 percent in the defeat.
If Payton does play, it will be his 1,000th career game. He played his first 999 with Seattle.
Portland had won three in a row and seven of nine before losing to the Los Angeles Lakers on the road on Friday, 92-84.
Milwaukee routed Portland at home on December 13, 101-79. The Blazers had won the previous six games in the series. including the last three meetings here.
