AUBURN HILLS, MICHIGAN (TICKER) —The Detroit Pistons seek their eighth victory in nine games when they host the Miami Heat at The Palace on Monday.
The Pistons, who had allowed an NBA-best 86.1 points per game entering Sunday’s game at Cleveland, limited the Cavs to just 75 points in a 15-point victory.
Richard Hamilton led five players in double figures with 23 points and Ben Wallace added 13 and 16 rebounds as the Pistons held the Cavs to just 36 percent shooting.
Miami has lost seven of its last 10 contests, including a 98-92 defeat at Dallas on Saturday.
Travis Best scored 21 points and rookie Caron Butler 14 but the team attempted only 13 free throws.
The Heat, who shot 40 percent, stayed in the game by nailing 10 3-pointers, including four by Best.
The Pistons won two of the first three meetings between the teams this season, including a 79-68 triumph in Detroit on November 20.
Detroit has won five of the last eight games here.
