LOS ANGELES (TICKER) —The Phoenix Suns try to halt a season-high three-game losing streak of the season on Friday when they visit Staples Center to face the Los Angeles Clippers.

The Suns have lost three straight games to match their longest slide of the season, which came from November 19-23. They are trying avoid losing four consecutive games for the first time since April 2-6, 2002.

Phoenix had its 11-game home winning streak snapped with a 99-90 loss to the Los Angeles Lakers on Wednesday.

Stephon Marbury had 33 points and 10 assists and fellow All-Star Shawn Marion added 18 points and 11 rebounds for the Suns, who have lost seven of their last nine games after winning 14 of 18.

Rookie Amare Stoudamire continued to struggle with just seven points on 1-of-12 shooting. He is averaging seven points in his last three games and has made only 6-of-27 shots during that span.

Phoenix has lost seven of its last eight road games and is just 8-17 away from America West Arena this season.

The Suns have won their first two meetings with the Clippers this season, with the most recent being a 108-95 win in Phoenix on December 27.

The Clippers snapped a three-game losing streak with a 77-75 victory over the Chicago Bulls on Wednesday.

Sean Rooks had nine points and a season-high 12 rebounds and blocked Jalen Rose’s potential game-tying shot in the final seconds as Los Angeles won for just the fifth time in 17 games.

Corey Maggette led the Clippers in scoring for the third straight game with 25 points and Elton Brand had 10 and 10 rebounds.

Michael Olowokandi and Lamar Odom both were benched in the fourth quarter as they struggled. Olowokandi scored just four points on 2-of-15 shooting and Odom made just 2-of-7 shots from the floor. Olowokandi will miss Friday’s game with a knee injury.

Los Angeles has won its last two games at Staples Center and is 10-14 at home this season.
