WASHINGTON (TICKER) —The Orlando Magic try to win a season series from the Washington Wizards for fifth time in six campaigns when they open up a three-game road trip at the MCI Center on Thursday.

The Magic took the series from the Wizards in four straight seasons before the teams split four games in 2001-02. Orlando won a pair of home meetings in December and visits Washington once more on March 11.

The Magic have struggled of late, losing five of their last seven games.

On Monday, Orlando lost to Detroit at home, 101-86. Tracy McGrady led the team with 20 points, but shot just 6-of-19. Grant Hill scored 12 first-half points but was blanked in the final 24 minutes.

The Wizards had won six of seven before an embarrassing 84-75 loss to lowly Toronto on Tuesday in the opener of a four-game homestand. Toronto dressed just eight players, but limited Washington to 34 percent (29-of-85) from the floor.

Michael Jordan scored 22 points but made just 3-of-12 shots in the second half. The Wizards were playing without Jerry Stackhouse, who is expected to be out for a week with a pulled left groin.
