Wizards to re-sign Howard to 1-year deal

The Washington Wizards have re-signed forward Josh Howard(notes) to a one-year contract that could pay him close to $4 million, Howard’s agent Derek Lafayette told Yahoo! Sports.

Howard averaged 12.7 points and 3.6 rebounds in four games with Washington after being traded from the Dallas Mavericks. He missed the remainder of the season after tearing his left anterior cruciate ligament on Feb. 22.

Howard has told Yahoo! Sports he’s hopeful he’ll be ready to play by the start of the regular season.
