Boston Celtics at Sacramento Kings, March 16, 2012: Fan Preview

The Boston Celtics made no moves at the trade deadline. Quite frankly, I am okay with that. I sincerely believe the team is talented enough to compete in the playoffs as they currently stand. I sometimes feel as if the team does not believe that.

"I was looking at both opportunities: to strengthen our team for the playoff run this year, and/or building up some chips and building for the future," Danny Ainge said in a conference call after the trade deadline passed "We actually had some conversations on both. Nothing seemed good enough to do."

The Celtics do need to consider the future, but for now the immediate future is what is important.

Boston continues its road trip with a game against the Sacramento Kings on Friday. It got off to a rough start with a heartbreaking loss to the Los Angeles Lakers on Sunday but since then the Celtics recorded wins against the Los Angeles Clippers on Monday and the Golden State Warriors on Wednesday. Sacramento poses a significantly lighter challenge in that they have won just three of their last 10 games.

With the stress of the trade deadline a thing of the past, the team can now focus on moving forward. A win against the Kings will be yet another step in the right direction.
