Five Original Jeremy Lin Puns for a Victory Over the Sacramento Kings: A Fan’s View

According to a Yahoo! Sports report, Jeremy Lin's amazing story got a thril-LIN' finish on Feb. 14 when he launched the game-winning trey in the Knicks' come-from-behind 90-87 victory over the Toronto Raptors.

His three-pointer capped a Lin-tense finish of six straight points to seal the win, which extended the New York Knicks' winning streak to six.

While the Knicks were 8-15 just two weeks ago, they can get back to the .500 mark with a win over Sacramento on Feb. 15.

Here's a look at five original Jeremy Lin puns for a victory over the Sacramento Kings:

1) Seventh HeavLIN

The local New York newspapers are going to need another crafty Jeremy Lin-themed headline if he has another big game to lead the team to its seventh straight victory, and this one works very well.

Lin, who was named the Eastern Conference Player of the Week for his work on the hardwood between Feb. 6 and 12, scored 27 points and added a career-high 11 assists in the Feb. 14 win over Toronto. Can he continue his Lincredible pace on Feb. 15 against the Sacramento Kings?

2) PropeLIN' the Knicks to .500

According to a Newsday report, Lin said following the game against the Raptors "I'm thankful that my coach and teammates trust me with the ball at the end of the game. I like having it at the end of the game. I'm just very thankful."

The Knicks desperately needed a point guard who could effectively run the show to get Amar'e Stoudemire and Carmelo Anthony enough shots, while not shying away from the big shot at the end of the game. Lin gave the Knicks exactly what they needed.

3) SevLIN in a Row

Lin is one of the rare basketball players whose star power piques the interest of sports fans and non-fans alike.

Of all the current athletes in the professional ranks, the same can only be said for a handful of players - Kobe Bryant, Derek Jeter, Tim Tebow, LeBron James and Tiger Woods. Everyone loves his incredible underdog story of perseverance and determination.

4) Level Seven in Super LINtendo Game

Lin was cut by the Golden State Warriors and Houston Rockets before making his way to the Knicks, but he never stopping working hard towards his goal of becoming a star in the NBA.

Lin is playing so well in Mike D'Antoni's system that he has scored 20 points or more in each of his six starts with the Knicks.

5) LINear Path to Success

Lin (@jlin7) had less than 200,000 followers on Twitter just a week ago, but his total is up to more than 307,000 as of Feb. 15. Lin followers on SINA's micro-blogging Weibo website also broke 500,000 over the weekend, and grew to almost 920,000 by Feb. 15.

On Feb. 11, Lin tweeted "Gutsy win…5 in a row! This team is so unselfish and has so much heart. Love playing with them! God is good!"
