Knicks name assistant coaches

NEW YORK (TICKER) —The New York Knicks named their assistant coaches Friday, completing the staff for new head coach Mike D’Antoni.

Phil Weber and Dan D’Antoni were hired as new assistants, while Herb Williams, who will enter his eighth season on the Knicks bench was retained.

Weber joins the Knicks after nine seasons as an assistant coach in Phoenix, while Dan D’Antoni was an assistant for the past three seasons with the Suns.

“We have three top quality assistant coaches that will be great assets as we work towards our goal of bringing winning basketball back to New York,” Knicks president of basketball operations Donnie Walsh said. “Phil and Dan enjoyed tremendous success with Coach D’Antoni in Phoenix, while Herb has been a great part of our franchise for many years.”
