Bucks G Williams has surgery

MILWAUKEE (TICKER) Milwaukee Bucks guard Mo Williams had successful surgery to repair ligament damage in his right thumb, the team announced Thursday.

Williams, 25, averaged 17.2 points and a career-high 6.4 assists in 66 games for the Bucks this season, his third in the league.

A former second-round pick, Williams will be sidelined for six weeks but is expected to make a full recovery for the start of next season.
