Bobcats send Wright to Warriors for Richardson

NEW YORK (Ticker) - The Charlotte Bobcats traded No. 8 draft pick Brandan Wright to the Golden State Warriors for swingman Jason Richardson and the rights to Jermareo Davidson.

The 6-9 Wright played just one season at North Carolina, averaging 14.7 points, 6.2 rebounds and a team-leading 1.8 blocked shots.

“Golden State really fits my style of play and I’m excited,” Wright said. “I feel great about the situation I’m coming into. I’m excited to get to play the best type of ball that you can play, spread it out, 1-on-1, make a lot of plays and show what you can do.”

Richardson 16.0 points and 6.7 rebounds during the regular season and scored 19.1 points in the postseason in 2006-07.

Davidson, a 6-11 forward out of Alabama, averaged 14.0 and 8.2 rebounds for the Crimson Tide this past season.
