Suns F-C Grant undergoes knee surgery, out three months

PHOENIX (Ticker) - Phoenix Suns forward-center Brian Grant will be sidelined for three months after undergoing right knee surgery Friday.

Grant underwent surgery for debridement of the patella tendon and removal of bone spurs on his knee cap. Suns team physician Tom Carter performed the procedure.

Signed to a two-year, $3.4 million in the offseason to add size to the Suns’ frontcourt, the 6-9 Grant is averaging just 3.3 points and 1.7 rebounds in nine games this season.

A 12-year veteran, the 33-year-old Grant has career averages of 10.6 points and 7.5 rebounds in 744 career games. He was selected eighth overall by Sacramento in 1994.
