Kevin Martin: Opts for Surgery, Out 6-8 Weeks

  • Print

Update: Martin will undergo surgery on Monday to fix a hairline fracture in his left wrist, the Sacramento Bee reports via twitter. He’ll miss six-to-eight weeks with the injury.

Recommendation: Martin’s injury leave the Kings’ backcourt exceptionally thin. Coach Paul Westphal will start Beno Udrih(notes) in Martin’s place.

If is hair line fracture was in his shooting, then of course it would be the right move to get it fixed, he went out and played 34 minutes, grabbed 11 boards, scored 29pts, how bad can it be bother him, its not in his shooting hand. When your the best player on the team, a captain, i think you need to be out there and be a leader. Off season surgery could easily fix that type of injury, k-mart knows his team sucks with or without him, they are not going anywhere anytime soon, so he's going to sit back and collect his benjamins, defend that idiot.

With all do respect to Tyreke Evans (32 points), I think he's better suited as a scoring guard, as oppose to being the point guard. Beno Udrih is, and should be the team's designated floor general. With Kevin Martin out indefinitely, Urdih might just be that (the team's PG), with Evans being the team's scorer.

"now is there any other reason to watch Kings games?" 2 words. Tyreke Evans. The kid had 32 points tonight. He is a star and Martin is just deciding to take the surgery cause if he makes this injury worse. It may hurt his career. The injury alone inst bad but the chances of it getting to be worse are extremely high. Smart move by martin to take the surgery. Go Kings. Ignorant idiots all over yahoo. Pathetic

If you can score 29 pts with the injury and grab 11 rebounds, how necessary is the injury? Just another overpaid athlete who does'nt care about his team, going to kick back for two months and get paid for nothing.
