Lakers F Odom undergoes shoulder surgery
LOS ANGELES (TICKER) —Los Angeles Lakers forward Lamar Odom underwent surgery on Tuesday to repair a torn labrum in his left shoulder.
Dr. Lewis Yocum performed the arthroscopic procedure at the Kerlan Jobe Surgery Center.
Odom will wear a sling for 10 days before starting rehabilitation. He is expected to make a full recovery in time for the start of training camp in October.
The 27-year-old Odom suffered the injury in a March 2 game against Sacramento. Odom missed the next five games - all losses - before returning to play in the Lakers’ last 23 games as well as the postseason.
Odom averaged 15.9 points, 9.8 rebounds and 4.8 assists in 56 games this past season.
In five postseason contests, Odom averaged 19.4 points and 13.0 rebounds. He scored a playoff career-high 33 points in the final game of the series.
