Warriors exercise options on Wright, Randolph

  • Print

OAKLAND, Calif. (AP)—The Golden State Warriors have exercised the fourth-year contract option on forward Brandan Wright(notes) and the third-year contract option on forward Anthony Randolph(notes).

The moves announced Wednesday keep Wright and Randolph under contract to the team through the 2010-11 season.

Wright, the eighth overall pick in 2007, appeared in 39 games last season, averaging 8.3 points and 4.0 rebounds in 17.6 minutes per contest. He had surgery on his left shoulder earlier this month and will miss the start of the season.

Randolph, the 14th pick in 2008, appeared in 63 games as a rookie, averaging 7.9 points, 5.8 rebounds and 1.17 blocks in 17.9 minutes per game.

Ellis Curry Randolph and Morrow are the future but who is the superstar?
Without one you don't have a chance. (Could be Randolph in a year or two)
Wright before getting hurt for the 5th or 6th time in 3 years was playing great
we'll see about him. He's an injury waiting to happen though.

    Sell the team to Ellison!

Anthony Randolph and Anthony Morrow are the future of this team. Along with Curry Buke and biedrins we have a solid starting 5 that is young and talented. Oh ya, dont forget about that Ellis kid. he's pretty good as well

Once we get rid of Nellie we can finally see our center quit playing point guard. Nellie is a clown who makes no one laugh. All those championship years Nellie played for the Celtics and you'd think he'd learn that you win with defense, not offense. So what do we get? Vomit ball. Run down the court and throw it up. If Nellie had LaBron, Kobe, Paul, Durant and Howard he'd still find a way to keep us out of the playoffs. I remember that 1974-75 championship team like it was yesterday (little known fact: first game played at the Bullets, next two at the Warriors, fourth game at Bullets; Warriors swept the Bullets, biggest upset of the 70s and Sports Illustrated gave us only two fcuking pages). Attles was the first coach to use all 12 players and wore the Bullets down. George Johnson and Clifford Ray wore down Wes Unseld; Silk outplayed the Big E and no one, absolutely no one, could stop Barry, averaging 30.6 points/game. But they won the title on defense and until we have a coach who coaches defense, we may be the most entertaining team in the league but that don't get us into the playoffs. Sure, we beat Dallas, but Dallas played the same run and gun game we did but had no answer for Baron Davis. Enjoy another lottery-pick season, Warrior fans.

Just more players and less time to go around to the deepest, most talented, mismanaged team in the league. I Love this team player wise but they are hard to watch sometimes. Poor Wright and Randolph, stuck in there for a few more years with that dysfunctional family called The Golden Warriors. Still trying to figure out that draft of Curry!!!
