Blazers’ Fernandez has procedure on back

Portland is in pain right now. Rudy, Oden, Nick, and Outlaw out for some time. get them young players some playing time. I know Bayless is being a little B tch lately about playing time but he should be starting to get some now. he is starting to look decently comfortable on the court now. PR micro spin on Rudy's SURGERY...doesn't yahoo sports have the SPINE to write their own column, instead of regurgitating the party line...and why are the blazers team of orthopedic SURGEONS so "procedure"-happy, aside from the fact that you make about ten times more money that way...NFL players have routinely rested this injury and gone on to recover...a discectomy is not a procedure...having any portion of your spinal column removed is more than a procedure

Not good! We aren't cursed, it just happens. We should be able to remain respectable as long as we put forth the necessary effort. There is no doubt we will make the playoffs and be near full strength. Minus Oden, we aren't as strong, but hopefully we can make a good acquisition.

Keep the faith, people -- keep the faith. The Blazers have taken more than their share of misfortune, but we're still one of the youngest team in the league, have the good collection of guys of which we can be proud, and if we don't make the playoffs given the strength of the west, it's lottery time, baby (and even more talent).

The thing not to do is PANIC. No dumb moves, no trade for some aging stiff just to make the playoffs. Just hang in there, let people heal, and come back next year and win our inevitable championship.

I've been a Blazer fan since the beginning of the franchise and I've never seen this many key players injured at once. Coach McMillan was having trouble figuring out the rotation and this latest injury just makes it all the more difficult for him. Losing Oden, Batum, Outlaw and Fernandez is going to be hard to overcome, but don't forget we've still got Roy, Aldridge, Blake, Przybilla, Miller, Webster and Bayless. Hopefully, Juwan Howard and rookie Dante Cunningham will be able to step it up and help out. I'm keeping the faith we can keep our head above water and make the playoffs.

i love the blazers. i was at the game when oden got hurt and everyone starting chanting oden oden. he was so upset and told roy he was sorry. i cant believe we are down to 9 available players. hopefully we can keep it up and start winning some. i feel so bad for all of them. and travis was the second highest scorer. but it isnt their fault. its not like they asked to get injured. its just part of the game. too bad they all happened at once. :(

Or are we suppose to be going to Houston related news and posting you injury updates on our 6 injured players and injured coach then trolling you? That how it suppose to work? Or you just bitter that despite half our team being injured we still beat you... hmm that’s probably it..

Too bad the Blazers are not in the Eastern Conference. Only 5 teams have a winning record. If Portland does make the playoffs, the starters will be so worn out that it would be hard to even make it past the first round.

o wow well now what should the blazers do. I know start andre miller the true point guard and let the wins come back when they won 5 in a row by almost double figures each time. Blake is a back up who can hit threes he is a role player not a starter. Just cause B roy cries coach gives in. come on has the coach proven anything this season with the talent on the roster the Blazers can still win. It ain't over till its over. We're still 3 games over .500 with 70% of the season left to play. I predict the 6th or 7th seed for us.

Damn, the blazers have gone from one the deepest teams in the league to now only having 7 players available due to injuries. Even their coach is out due to injury/surgery sustained during a practice. What a waste of a season.

I hope he makes a full recovery.
