Pistons plan to rest Hamilton for another game

DETROIT (AP)—Richard Hamilton(notes) will miss a third straight game with a sprained right ankle Tuesday when the Detroit Pistons host the Orlando Magic.

Hamilton was injured in last week’s season-opening win at Memphis and X-rays on the ankle were negative.

He scored a team-high 25 points in the victory and the Coatesville, Pa., native has led Detroit in scoring for seven straight seasons.

The Pistons struggled offensively without him in losses to Oklahoma City and Milwaukee.

    You are absolutely right kevin t, all the championship banners phoenix has raised the past few years is the proof. Now with d'antoni in new york, they should be close too? "D" doesnt win titles? Neither does the three point line.

    man @#$% detroit, stuckey is not a point gaurd he can't play like one and yes he does shoot to much, hamilton is getting old and will be injurey prone.Gordon is going to score like he usaully does thats not going to do anything and big ben is going to be a bust just like he was in chicago. that's why he's been everywhere from team to team no one wants him he is playing like craps so he went back to detriot. He has age on him. They might get the eight seed but they are not going anywhere.

    Guard rotation is good but Stuckey needs to pass more. Gordon looking the goods. Big men is the problem. CV will be much better in a weeks time after a few games (missed most of preseason). If big Ben gets injured or can't play 30+ mins a game they will struggle to win 30 games. No one else can rebound!
    Do Piston coaches get told by management to give rookies no court time? Surely Daye, Summers and Jerebko couldn't be any worse than Wilcox. Let the young guys get a bit of experience, so they are ready for the future.

    Coach curry would play Austin daye and chris wilcox,. Does anyone know where Walter Hermann iz ?? Ha ha ,, he was good on 2k9 ,, my boi used to get heated when he would score , lol , he always played with the fake king lebron ,, everyone knows that Kobe iz da real king ,, Wait a second .... I thought t.i. was da k!nG ;-) once Hamilton gets back ,, everything will b better ,, he needs to rest and b 100%

    Damn ,. Can Austin daye get some playing time ,. The coach needs to play tayshauns lil brother ,. Haha ,. On 2k10 Austin Daye has skillz ,. 6"11 with handles and a jump shot from 3 ,. He can b a factor if the coach puts him in ,.

    I'm sure everyone agrees that
    stuckey shoots too much , stuckey ,. He takes more shots than tayshaun which is not good for our Pg ,., he goes one on one too much ,. Pass to tayshaun and villanueva more ,. Cv needs to Start making shots cuz right now he looks like a bust !!

    Ben Wallace looks better than I expected ,.

    Has anyone seen Chris Wilcox at all ?? Ha Ha ,. Coach has him and daye in the doghouse !!!!

    pistons have a coach now. should see some improvement with the addition of gorden. not sure about the villanuava pickup. pistons still need a inside scorer..

    the only other team besides the pistons to win with the so called 'defensive' attitude the nba tries to portray to people was the spurs....soooo you dont need to defense to win championships....

    If you don't think Ben Gordon has the "me" attitude your crazy. This guy doesn't buy into defense at all. And thats what the Pistons have made a living off of the past few seasons. Gordon is strictly offense. Has been ever since he entered the league. The Pistons hit the panic button after losing to the Celtics in the ECF a few years back. They shipped off their best player, Mr. Big Shot. And they haven't been the same since. I hate when teams sacrifice the present for the future, and its even worse for fans. Their two big signings in the off season were for overvalued offensive players. You don't win championships with offense, the Pistons organization should know that.

    Whats big ben going to do, score one point. hamilton is playing hurt because he doesn't want his value to show. in other words, he doesn't want to be traded. they are also starters for a reason, if you don't want to play the minutes, go to the bench. maybe joe didn't draft anthony because he saw that he is a thug. like the poster said, joe has his ring & anthony does not. bosh is not the answer either, we have enough scorers that play no defense. bosh would be a good fit for the suns. there will be a trade this season & the pistons will have a better record than everyone predicted before the season started. go piston's. in memory of a life long, die hard, piston fan, donald j schultz.

    The season is barely started and already some of you "experts" have written them off. Can you have a positive attitude for a while and see how they perform. Save your carping for later--maybe after 25 or 30 games.

    F*ck Melo! As a Pistons fan I am so tired of hearing about that draft. Yes Milicic was a bust but at that time we had no need for Melo and we were a Championship caliber team with Prince at SF. We needed a big for down the road which is why we drafted Milicic. It is what it is at this point. We won a title and contended for several others without Melo so life goes on. Besides Melo aint won sh*t yet anyway. De-Troit Basketbaaaallllllll !!!!!!!!!!

    the pistons will be the team to beat once rip hamilton gets better and perfoms like he did during the show he put on during the win by the piston in their first contest.
