Atty. says Dirk Nowitzki’s ex-fiancee not pregnant

DALLAS (AP)—Prison medical records show Dirk Nowitzki’s(notes) former fiancee is not pregnant, the Dallas Mavericks forward’s attorney said Thursday.

Cristal Taylor, 38, is serving a four-year prison sentence in Missouri following her May 6 arrest at Nowitzki’s Dallas home on a probation violation.

Taylor had told The Dallas Morning News she was pregnant with Nowitzki’s child. But Nowitzki attorney Robert Hart said a pregnancy test sought through a July court order has come back negative.

“As we suspected, we did not believe her story,” Hart told the Morning News. “We received written confirmation that she is not pregnant from the department of corrections medical accountability records system” in Vandalia, Mo.

Taylor’s Texas-based attorney, Scott Renick, told ESPN: “I don’t know if she was never pregnant, I just don’t know and I may never know.” St. Louis-area attorney Matthew Fry represented Taylor in her criminal case, but said he has no knowledge of the medical records.

Messages left for Hart and Taylor by The Associated Press were not immediately returned.

Taylor was arrested in May on a 2006 theft of services charge involving dental work. She had been on probation after pleading guilty in 1999 in Missouri to forgery and felony stealing.

    I think everyone associated with the NBA has a healthy respect for Dirk's workmanship attitude towards basketball and his relentless pursuit to make himself better each offseason. I think everyone knows what kind of micro-manager Cuban is; he would sell his mother to bring a championship to Dallas...He's convinced that Nowitski has the goods to get the job done. Nowitzki will still leave it on the floor after each game but now he's got to deal with this crap about his personal life from every arena he visits. Low-lifes and imbeciles insulting your taste in women. Unbelievable! Can he handle it? Yeah, sure...But what a price to pay to play basketball for your livelihood.

    i think that dirk's ex was trying to make i up just for the press and everything. he should have did a background check on her. i love the MAVS and everything but this kind of stuff going on and plus Cuban just wanted the money and not the team itself he was using the team for the money.
