Knicks move Gallinari into starting lineup

NEW YORK (AP)—The New York Knicks have changed their lineup, giving Danilo Gallinari(notes) his first start of the season.

Gallinari replaced Al Harrington(notes) on Saturday night against Philadelphia. Gallinari averaged 19 points and made 10 3-pointers in the Knicks’ first two games.

Gallinari, the No. 6 pick in the 2008 draft, was expected to be a starter this season but struggled during exhibition play after missing most of his rookie campaign with a back injury. Coach Mike D’Antoni decided to make a change after New York’s dismal start on Friday, when the Knicks were outscored 32-13 in the first quarter of their double-overtime loss at Charlotte.

    the knicks is going to finish the season 0-60. Then next year get lb and cb4 for free agency.

    WTF is D'Antoni trying to do - devalue everyone on the roster? Last year, that bs with Marbury wasn't going to show D'Antoni as a jerk because everybody hates Steph... But the s*** with benching or not playing Eddie Curry, Larry Hughes and, now, Harrington shows that the Knicks don't give a d*** if they ruin guys' careers. Gallinari played well against Charlotte last night & he should be more time... but Al has been one of their best players...

    I just dropped Thaddeus to pick him up. He'll be close to the top in 3's this year. Glad I didn't waste an early pick on Rashard Lewis...
