A-Rod, champion Yankees honored at Knicks game

NEW YORK (AP)—Thanks to Alex Rodriguez and the Yankees, Madison Square Garden finally had some champions on the court again.

Seven of the World Series winners continued their day of celebrating Friday by coming onto the floor after the first quarter of the Knicks’ game against the Cleveland Cavaliers.

With Yankees fan LeBron James(notes) standing and clapping from the sideline, Rodriguez, CC Sabathia, Mark Teixeira, Robinson Cano, Melky Cabrera, Joba Chamberlain and Freddy Guzman received a standing ovation while Frank Sinatra’s “New York, New York” blared over the arena’s speakers.

Former Yankee Bernie Williams, who has been nominated for a Latin Grammy, played the national anthem on his guitar before the game.

Earlier Friday, the Yankees had a parade through Lower Manhattan.

ya know whats great about basketball, the salary cap which is why the knicks will never win a championship because they are not good evaluaters of talent just like the yankees arent all they do s go spend @#$%loads of money on the best free agents available if there was a salary cap in baseball theyd be screwed

Everyone else besides A-Rod, CC, and Chamberlain had barely contributed to their win of the world series. Why are they even in MSG in the first place?

The jealousy of the NY Yankees winning the World Series is getting old. The Yankees are the best team in baseball , get over it.

Maybe the Knicks can buy a World Championship too some day. Look at your daddies up in Boston, if you want to see a true basketball winner...douchey Knicker-lickers
