NEW ORLEANS (AP)—The New Orleans Hornets have picked up swingman Julian Wright’s(notes) option for the 2010-11 season.

Wright, who is 6 feet 8, 225 pounds, is a former first-round draft choice entering his third NBA season and is expected to be in the starting lineup when the Hornets open the regular season at San Antonio on Wednesday night.

Picked 13th overall in 2007, the Kansas standout averaged 4.4 points and 2.8 rebounds in 14.3 minutes last season in 58 games, including 19 starts.

im not a hornets fans but i think that the hornets need whatever they can get because all they have is the mvp or should be the mvp if the other two retards were not so hype up so much. chris paul is the best overall player in the nba. he produces the best stats and they talk about lebron not having anyone around. He has better players around him than paul but it doesnt matter who is around you it is how you make the people around you better.

i just dont like to see him get overlook every year beause of the two big name players getting hyped up so much it is just retarded.

If the coach of the Hornet's hadn't disliked JR Smith the Hornets would be in good shape. He gave him away. How can a new player ever get better when all he does is sit on the bench.I recall he took out Chris Paul in a game when he only needed 1 more rebound to have a triple double.Chris Paul pleaded with him to let him play. The coach just smiled. We need a Good Coach. He does not know how to work with his players.

just wait baby, coach has been wet nursing him alittle. this year coach will cut him loose. if we only had a true center. its hard to believe the predicament we are in at center. too much money being poorly spent on this team. if the hornets would have traded west I would have been an x hornets fan for true.

So this news is supposed to excite us, lol! Sorry Julian...good for you getting picked up despite not being given many opportunities in the past. Of course this says you're expected to start at SA on We...good luck with that...tough opponent . Hopefully now you'll have an opportunity to shine in the NBA.
