Grizzlies officially waive Iverson
MEMPHIS, Tenn. (AP)—The Memphis Grizzlies officially have ended their relationship with Allen Iverson(notes) by waiving the 10-time All-Star.
The Grizzlies announced Monday they had mutually agreed to end a one-year contract with the former league MVP.
But the team did not waive Iverson until late Tuesday afternoon.
Iverson began an indefinite leave of absence on Nov. 7 to deal with a personal issue. The 34-year-old guard played only three games with Memphis, all in California. He averaged 12.3 points and 22.3 minutes coming off the bench in each.

Your Statement -- "Players that outgrew their selfishness long enough to win championships Michael Jordan and Coby."
Spelled Kobe, not Coby. And when the Chicago Bulls were winning their championships, there was no way Michael Jordan was taking a back seat to anyone, and there is no way Michael Jordan would have willingly come off the bench during that run. Iverson has averaged 6.7 assists a game over the course of his career, that's not bad for a selfish guy.
Your Statement -- "The coach that left Philadelphia and went to Detroit when Allen Iverson was in Philadelphia. They but heads all the time over practice and the owners allowed Iverson to basically run over their head coach. He won two championships with Detroit. Why ? because Detroit won as a team."
What's Wrong?
The Coach, Larry Brown, and Allen Iverson did butt heads in the beginning, but they turned that around and both came to very much mutually respect each other, and both will say now that they loved working with each other. Larry Brown and Iverson spoke very high of each other during their finals run and when Iverson won the MVP. So did Iverson run over the head coach? No he did not. Did Larry Brown win two championships in Detroit, no he did not. He only won one championship with Detroit and that was in 2004.

he was injured early on, missed pre-season and was slowly integrated into the team.
it was just no excuse for him to yap about playing time 3 games early in the season not to mention just coming back from injury.
i have no respect for the guy. sure an awesome baller but he hasn't gotten off that streetball rep.
he belongs to the AND1 videos.
one would thought that at a certain age he'd grown, mellowed and matured into a veteran leader and perhaps posting a legacy.
it's sad to see him go and relegate himself to a petulant child.

F you all i would love to have him join the lake show where he would come of the bench. Which i dont think he would mind because when kobe gets his breather the floor would be his. No reason AI and fisher cant split pt both aged vetrans. Plus you put AI under the coaching of phil jackson gonna turn him around quick, Plus the potential of finally playing for a ring i think would put him in check aswell.
