Chicago Bulls center Aaron Gray has leg injury

  • Print

CHICAGO (AP)—The Chicago Bulls have confirmed that third-year center Aaron Gray(notes) has sustained a leg injury and is likely to be out for 6 to 8 weeks.

The Bulls said Tuesday that Gray had developed lower leg pain over the previous two days. He was examined by team physician Dr. Brian Cole of Midwest Orthopedics at Rush University Medical Center, who determined that he had a stress fracture of his left fibula. The diagnosis was confirmed by MRI.

The 7-foot Gray, who played his college ball at Pittsburgh, was the Bulls’ second-round choice in the 2007 NBA draft.

Third string centers in the NBA can be important. Remember Will Perdue? The man averaged more rebounds per minute play than any player in the league for numerous years. How many rings does he own? He went to S.A. and was part of a 3 headed 7 foot monster starting line-up with Robinson and Duncan when the match-up allowed it. Is Aaron Grey comparable to Will, maybe not but he does work hard on both ends of the court.

I don't care about this guy. I just feel, believe me I have my players i don't like too, that we as fans have no right to say how bad a guy is. He plays in a league with the best athletes in the world. He's got a nice post game for a 3rd string and a good attitude about going from the starter to the 3rd string last year.

I just think he deserves a little respect, that's all.

And Carlo, they resigned him because he's cheap. They still got Jerome James from the NY trade last year making 8 mil to sit on the bench, Gray is probably making close to the league minimum. Gray is better than a D Leaguer, plus HELLO he's 7' tall and 275-280. All he needs to do is stand there when the other teams bench is in.

I don't see any of you @#$%s scoring 3.5 ppg in the NBA. The average NBA player only lasts 3-4 years and he's still in the league. Good for him and hope he gets well.

I think Aaron is a good back up center in this league, he doesn't have to be a star. He rebounds, scores well down low, & hits his free throws. What else do you guys want from him?

Aaron Gray should be lucky he didn't get cut.

    He's a D-Leaguer at the very best.

    why did they resign him?
