Bucks guard Michael Redd out again with sore knee

  • Print

MILWAUKEE (AP)—Bucks guard Michael Redd(notes) will not play against the Orlando Magic because of a sore left knee.

Redd has already missed nine games because of a knee strain he sustained Oct. 31 against Detroit while dunking on a fast break. He returned on Wednesday and played in the final three games of Milwaukee’s most recent road trip, averaging 7.6 points in limited minutes.

But coach Scott Skiles said before Saturday’s game that Redd told him the knee was sore after the Bucks’ 108-90 loss to Oklahoma City on Friday night.

The Bucks are also missing center Andrew Bogut(notes) (left leg strain), who was hurt Nov. 18 and will miss his sixth game, and forward Luc Richard Mbah a Moute(notes) (left foot sprain), who was hurt Nov. 16 and will miss his seventh game.

The Bucks NEED TO DUMP REDD!!! What in the hell is wrong with Management. How can the Bucks continue with this Bull@#$%!!! Since Redd returning they are terrible. Last night they lost to Orlando, and also Monday will get there Ass kicked by Chicago. Dump Redd, Bogut, and see what you can get. I have been a season ticket holder for years now and WILL NOT GO TO ANOTHER GAME AND PAY MONEY FOR THIS @#$%!!!

    Redd

Must be the best job in life.

Sit on the bench for 2 years, and collect 18 million each year.

How can I sympathize with over paid players like this? No wonder why the seats are empty!

Yeah Redd was overpaid and for what because he is a humble guy? Sure he is good for the community, well then let him become a minister and help heal people. His defense always stunk and he fakes interest in anything but shooting. Let Meeks start to see some more time, he at least is younger and can also shoot. I like Bogut, this injury was freakish, he should have been out of the game anyway that night. He has great chemistry with with Jennings. This is Brandon's team, time to build around him, not Redd.

Number 24, "Redd is the most injury prone dude in the NBA"...

Actually, Kevin Martin takes the cake in that category. Redd is in his 11th season, and had a string of 5 healthy seasons, 2 of which he backed up Ray Allen back in the day. He was good then, and the next year when he led the Bucks to the playoffs against Detroit (tho the Pistons prevailed).

Martin has yet to really begin his 6th NBA season, and has been injured 4 of the 6 seasons (counting this year), and has trouble playing more than 60 games in a season. And at one point, Redd was out rebounding and assisting Martin, back in 03-04 to 05-06! Redd was the man back on 2002 Inside Drive and 2006 Live.

So quit hatin on Redd... He'll be back, even if it kills him. He needs to get traded to the Mavs for Josh Howard! Then the Mavs would have a true SG and be complete!

@GARYA - Not quite, but 03-04 had Redd play in all 82, Carter in 73 and T-Mac in 67. Not that you were being serious when you asked!

to pick between redd or bogut who gets injured by stepping on their own shadows, I think I'll go with bogut with a heavy heart and probably hammond will have a better luck picking replacements for these guys. he needs a lot of luck if hammond thought that alexander was a steal at #8, what a bust...michael redd your days are numbered so enjoy your undeserving massive paycheck and you were never that good!!!

I would sit on the bench for the league minimum, and accomplish more than Redd does.

Redd will never play in the NBA as a productive player again. Hie will be out of the league in a couple of years.

It's too bad for the Bucks that Glen Robinson didn't really ever turn out to be the player most thought he would be. Coming out of Purdue he looked like he could possibly be a 10 time All Star. Not sure what happened to that Allen, Cassell, Robinson team. One year they played the Shaq/Kobe Lakers and just destroyed them running them ragged hitting from all over and then had Thomas coming off the bench. Seemed like a serious contender and then they barely made the playoffs the next season --if they did.

It sucks because at the time if you let him go and he signs with Cleveland, the Bucks look like they don't want to compete. But then you sign him and he is always hurt. I have less problem with the signing because he was a great scorer than giving big contracts to the Bobby Simmons and especially Dan Gadzuric's of the world.

LOL, I knew it!! And though it's not funny he's injured, I figured he would at least get past the 2nd week of the season! I projected about the 5th or 6th week. I'm waiting on Bogut - he's next.
