Video: NBA players pick their new names with hilarious results

The folks at The Basketball Jones have a preternatural ability to elicit telling responses from players to the most ridiculous questions. So, when they asked the participants at LaMarcus Aldridge's(notes) charity game two weeks ago to pick their new names (a la Metta World Peace(notes)), it turned into one of the best videos of the lockout.

The results are amazing. They range from the dull (Steve Blake's(notes) "John Smith") to the nerdy (Kevin Durant's(notes) "Batman") to the goofy (Nate Robinson's(notes) "Etan Nosnibor") to the endlessly perplexing (I don't want to ruin Josh Howard's(notes) surprise).

You'll learn more about these players here than you would during 15 postgame press conferences. Enjoy.
