Video: Kevin Garnett tops off his team’s first game with a tussle

The New York Knicks and Boston Celtics opened the 2011-12 season in excitable fashion, thrilling the Madison Square Garden crowd with a 106-104 Knick win. And Kevin Garnett, perhaps the NBA's preeminent trash-talker, is clearly in midseason form. Or, late-December form, which makes sense even on the NBA's opening day.

After missing a buzzer-beater that would have tied the contest, KG took offense to Knick forward Bill Walker's exultations and, well, he kind of choked the guy.

We missed this. No lie. Welcome back, NBA, and Merry Christmas.
