Ball Don't Lie - NBA

You know, for someone who snuck chances in his second grade class to write a Michael Jordan "biography" in his Mead Notebook back in the spring of 1988, as someone who has poured over just about every other MJ bio in the years since, and as a former Cook County resident, I can't believe that I've never seen this before:

MJ, on a Nike tour, playing on a Spanish team, chains flying, backboards breaking, as angular and potent and breathtaking as ever? Where did this come from?

If you didn't watch long enough to see the backboard break, look at this:

How tough must it be to break the glass on a backboard with one hand? Darvin Ham, Darryl Dawkins - each of those guys tore it down with two hands. Jerome Lang is the only one I can think of that pulled it off with one fell swoop.

My guess is that it was a cheap Euro-backboard. Before they used to Shaq-proof everything.

I like how the guy who gets dunked on takes FOREVER to realize the backboard got shattered.

Damn. With one hand. Be it a rice paper board. One hand still is impressive.

What makes it that much impressive is because of where he jumped from!!! When Mike was young, I would match his jumping ability up to ALMOST (I said almost) any of the highest jumpers today!!!
