Ball Don't Lie - NBA

You've no doubt seen this video by now — at other sites, on your television screen, in the 10-man rotation three days ago — but here it is once again in all its rockets red glare glory. If you're American, make sure you have some tissues nearby.

For those without soul, Marvin Gaye performed that sexy rendition of the Star Spangled Banner back at the 1983 NBA All-Star Game in Los Angeles. Dr. J went on to score a game-high 25 points in leading the East to a 132-123 victory over the West, its fourth in a row. Reggie Theus shot 0-for-5.

And now, after the jump, a few Olympic basketball links to take us to the weekend ...

• The Painted Area has the only Olympic Men's Basketball preview you need. Check out their Group A and Group B scouting reports. The mini flags are a nice touch.

• Greg Dohmann, writing at TrueHoop, has some advice for Team USA: nail those free throws, kids.
