Ball Don't Lie - NBA

No, it didn't officially count, but Kevin Garnett's(notes) 75-foot shot from Wednesday's Warriors-Celtics game was pretty incredible to watch. What's that one saying? Almost only counts in horseshoes and hand grenades. Yeah, that has absolutely nothing to do with anything here. Great shot though. Great shot.

That not a great shot IMO, more like lucky shot. Great shots are tough jumpers with time running out or a dudes hand on your face, not a lucky full court bomb. i made one of those yesterday, probably not NBA court length though.

#2 - keep dreaming. Probably couldn't make that if you were lifted right at the rim. It was a good shot. Doesn't have to be all dramatic. Stop hating so much.

Seriously...anyone that's played basketball that's any good has made at least one of those in practice. I watched a skinny 9th grader hit a 3/4 court shot in a game of H.O.R.S.E and then his opponent (not so skinny 10th grader) make it too. It's a little luck and a lot of just throwing it up straight.

That's alot more skill than luck, that throw coming off the spin isn't easy.

You need skill and luck. Every NBA player has the potential to make that shot, but I bet no one can make that at a FG% of at least 15 (with at least 50 tries). I wish it counted though - I could use the slight FG% and 3pt made boost on my fantasy team.

Also, lucky shots can be great too.
That Devin Harris's game winning shot last year and Nowitzski's game winner this year had a lot of luck, and those shots were great.

brainsez also take to account that NBA Courts are way bigger than high school and College courts. Also he just turned and shot quickly not have time to prepare like you do in Horse. Also he's KG and those two kids aren't probably going to play college ball.

Garnett, best palyer in the NBA, period. The article said "almost is only good in horseshoes". Have you ever been to a National Horshoe Pitching Tournament where the Winner usually averages 90%+ Ringers? Almost is not an equation!

these guys live and breathe this stuff...then inhale it again...they're suppose to make these shots at a slightly better rate than your average joe...anyone see curly from the globetrotters? he would actually practice these shots...so it's make-able...tim hardaway and magic johnson used to make these kinds of shots...how about jerry west's game tying 62' shot at the end of regulation to tie the knicks (back when the knicks were still a team) - back then there were no 3-pointers...if there was a 3-point shot back then - that would've been the game winner....instead they went to OT and the lakers lost anyway...but just the same...it's a great shot by KG...

There's nothing lucky about it. Was his back to the basket with his eyes closed? Did it bounce off the rim three times? He shot it perfectly while spinning away from defenders from a distance that many people can't even throw a basketball. Just gotta work on the clock management buddy.
