Weekend games to pay attention to ...

Alternative headline: "Games to pay attention to: Both Final Four match-ups, and anything that involves two possible Western Conference playoff teams." Yup. Better hope for rain this weekend.

San Antonio at Utah -- 8:00 p.m., Friday
The Spurs remind me of those Boo ghosts from Super Mario Bros. They refuse to look me in the face, but as soon as I turn my back to them, they sneak up from behind and reel off a seven or eight-game winning streak. I believe Manu Ginobili's also impervious to Fire Power.

Dallas at L.A. Lakers -- 10:30 p.m., Friday
Dirk Nowitzki has been a match-up nightmare for Los Angeles this season, averaging 30.3 points and 11.3 rebounds. Then again, Kobe Bryant has been a match-up nightmare for Dallas, too, dropping 29, 52 and 40 points on 'em. So, think happy thoughts, don't close your eyes and everything should be okay.

Golden State at New Orleans -- 1:00 p.m., Sunday
If you can only watch one game this weekend, I recommend this one. However, if you can only watch one game this weekend completely hung-over, TIVO this, put a piece of tape over the ticker and watch the Dallas-Phoenix action instead. Chris Paul deserves your full attention, and this is a huge game for the Dubs.

Dallas at Phoenix -- 3:30 p.m., Sunday
Barring any tweaked ankles or Friday night crowd diving, this game will mark the first time these two have met with Shaquille O'Neal and Jason Kidd in the line-up. This news makes me as happy as a grown woman who collects 'Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles' memorabilia.

Enjoy the games, and embrace the weekend, people.

It's curious how Shaq went from retirement talks and sitting out for the season with Miami TO playing so many minutes per game and being effective for Phoenix. I think that's a bunch of bull coming from someone who makes $20 mil a year. The NBA should fine players who stop playing and pretend to be injured just to be traded. Once traded, they're just fine and can participate in a full game. Shaq is an extremely self-centered player who is driven by the $$. More people should be like Gilbert Arenas who is more interested in keeping their team together for a chance than making more money for one more season.

Shaq is the greatest center therefore i think the hawks can still beat them in the finals. If Koebe will start playing team ball he will be ok and quit worrying about his bank account . As for Lebron i mean MVP he is a team player .

I agree with you but Koebe will never play team ball . Theres no way this team will win a championship unless they have Shaq therefore i give the edge to Phoenix
